So let’s be honest. I seriously despise having to buy so many different cleaners! You have to have a different cleaner for different things and I’m scared to use them where they’re not supposed to be used (cross using a good bathroom cleaner in the kitchen) because I never know what’s in it and I don’t want to contaminate my family. So I have scoured the internet and this is the best homemade cleaning solution that I have found.

How to Make The Homemade Cleaning Solution
For the bottle that I made, I used one full 9oz bottle of blue dawn dish soap, one cup of white vinegar, and one cup of water.
I have made this before without the water and it made my bathroom smell like vinegar and dawn for about a month. I didn’t want that headache again so I watered it down. It makes more, you use less vinegar, works just as well, and doesn’t have as strong of a stench that hangs around for a month (it just lasted about a day this time).
I mixed all the ingredients in a spray bottle that my fiancé picked up for me from Family Dollar over a year ago and went to town.
After spraying let it sit for approx. 15 minutes and let it work it’s magic!
I wanted to test and see where it worked and where it didn’t.
If I’m going do a homemade cleaning solution, I want it to clean almost everything.
So I sprayed my sinks in the kitchen, Alexis’ bathtub, our shower and the kitchen counters.
Verdict? It cleaned it all!!
Check out these before and after shots. Please excuse the fact that her tub was disgusting. I had poured clorox on it a couple times and scrubbed it and it refused to come off and just kept getting worse.
The stove is something I hated cleaning because that dang food gets cooked on from the heat and tears my sponges up but with my newfound handy-dandy homemade cleaning solution, I spray it on, leave it for about 15 minutes (or more depending on how long Alexis distracts me) then wipe it. All the stains just came right off, including the tub! I was so shocked and happy!
How much does the homemade cleaning solution cost?
You can go to the store and buy a cleaner full of chemicals for over $3 or head on over to your local CVS and see if they have the 9oz Dawn on sale for $.99 and pull out the big jug of white vinegar I know everyone has in their house, right? Or is that just something my family does?.. Either way, it’s so much cheaper than buying a bunch of those harmful & toxic cleaners.
