This year wasn’t anything extraordinary, but like any Halloween since having a little girl, it was fun.!
If you have seen my Fall Bucket List then you know that I wanted to dress up for Halloween. We usually do a family theme.
Why a family theme?
Because I think it is cute. Do I really need more reason?
Alexis gets a kick out of it. If she put her costume on before Halloween, she would tell me to put mine on as well. She thought it was fun to have mommy dress-up with her. I also personally think that it helps her to have her parents involved and not just taking her places in our normal clothes.
& I think it’s fun to dress-up. Why should the kids get to have all the fun??
We were Alice in Wonderland themed.
I made my costume and Alexis’ & Jacob put his together.
It took forever to get that red out of my hair and I dropped glitter wherever I went from the glitter gold tulle on my tutu… I swore I hated trying to get the red spray out, but I did orange the very next year.
We did a Flintstones theme.
Alexis’ costume was like the only one that came out decent. I cut mine too much and had to wear a shirt underneath and of course we waited till the last minute so we didn’t get to do a tie for Fred (Jacob).
& Now in 2016
We were all going to be Pikachu. Again we waited until the week before. So Alexis and I got costumes but they ran out before we got back to get Jacobs.
I could swear a million times over to get ready half a year in advanced so Halloween goes smoothly, but I promise it probably wouldn’t even work. I will never learn.
So Alexis and I were Pikachu.
I was digging my makeup (clown makeup)
Meet My BFF
She is awesome and dressed up as Wendy Addams.
& Meet My BFF’s Kids!
This year I wanted to go to more than just our normal 2 trick or treating places, but that didn’t happen. (Am I surprised? No.)
Alexis still had a ball though. We went trunk-or-treating at 2 local places and she got enough candy to last her for a while.
She had a lot of fun just seeing the other people all dressed up.
My favorite part of the night
was when Alexis would go up to someone to get candy. I have taught her if she’s going to ask me for something, to say “Please, can I have (insert item here)” So she would say “Please, can I have some candy?” Pahahaha. It was the cutest stinkin thing!
Some of the time she would say “Trick-or-Treat” but that wasn’t that often.
Hey, at least she has some manners. (:
What would I change?
Next year I want to plan better. Had I known we wouldn’t be able to get to just 2 trick or treating places, I would have took her to some places over the weekend. So next year since Halloween is on a Tuesday, I will more than likely take her to some events that happen the weekend before. I also hope to plan our costumes in like August, but we will see.
